Vulnerable. Resilient. Unapologetically herself.

Singer, writer, model, and the ultimate girls’ girl, popular content creator Madi B Webb has long been known for her signature blend of chic style inspo, women-empowering content, and witty humor. But earlier this year, she revealed a very different side of her story, one her nearly 4 million followers had never seen before.

In a video posted on Instagram and TikTok, Madi made a jaw-dropping confession: She kicked off her 2024 being $40,000 in debt!

But here’s the plot twist—even as she faced massive financial strain, Madi still chose to move into a luxury penthouse in California. Talk about being deliciously delulu!

Or…maybe it wasn’t delusion at all. Perhaps Madi was experiencing what all great Muses are known to tap into from time to time–deep, intuitive, unexplainable faith.

“I just knew in my soul it was the right thing to do. I knew it was going to make me more money,” she says in the video.

Listen, by her own admission, our girl Madi was down bad. We’re talking deep in the trenches. She didn’t have any cash. She barely had concepts of a plan (sorry, too soon?).

What she did have? Vision. Determination. And a belief in herself that couldn’t be shaken.

The Backstory: From Dream Mansion to a Nightmare Reality

Let’s rewind. Madi’s journey to attaining wealth wasn’t a straight path. In 2020, the teen moved out of her parents’ home and into a glamorous LA mansion to join the famed Hype House—a short-lived content house known for launching influencers into the spotlight and attracting lofty brand deals for the house collective. It was seemingly a dream job for any new influencer. Collaborate and play around with a great group of friends to make fun content. Make great money while living a posh LA lifestyle. And live rent-free in a mansion. .

But behind the viral moments and extravagant lifestyle was a painful reality.

Madi later transparently revealed in her podcast that her time in the house was one of the darkest periods of her life, marked by trauma and abuse at the hands of a housemate. Ultimately, she made the bold decision to walk away from the collective and start over.

But this time, she was all on her own.

By 2022, Madi had carved out her own path and nearly tripled her income, earning close to $300,000 that year. But as her brand grew, so did the internal pressure. The more she leaned into creating only  “shoppable content,” the less aligned she felt with her purpose.

So, in 2023, Madi made another bold risk. She walked away from a lucrative contract with a major brand.

The choice cost her financially and emotionally, and by January 2024, she was $40,000 in debt.

The Delulu Era That Sparked a Breakthrough

Instead of spiraling, Madi chose to shift her mindset. With her income plummeting to $80,000 and no safety net, she took a huge risk and moved into a penthouse—and used the entire process as content.

The content she created of her moving into her penthouse and giving house tours quickly became viral.

Even still, at this point, Madi had no cash flow. She had no idea how she would pay the next month’s rent and expenses. She even had to barter with moving companies for promos in lieu of payment. Our girl may have been broke, but she was still savvy!

Madi continued to lean into her authenticity. She started creating more content that spoke directly to women looking for more than just links—they wanted empowerment.

And that’s exactly what she gave them.

By fall 2023, her messaging had evolved. Her content began to reflect a deeper truth: You can rewrite your story. You can manifest a better life. You can live richly—in every sense of the word.

A Rich Bitch Era Was Loading

In October 2024, less than a year after hitting rock bottom, Madi revealed that she had made over $500,000.

So, what was her secret sauce? Madi seemingly reprogrammed her mindset to believe she was already the woman she was becoming.

“Your beliefs about money are running everything,” she says.

For Madi, it wasn’t about budgeting; it was about belief.

“There was a day I felt something shift,” Madi shares. That same week, she landed a $50,000 brand deal—enough to pay off her credit cards and next month’s rent.

Madi’s story is a modern fairy tale with a twist: At the end of the day, there wasn’t a prince or a brand alone that saved her—it was her own belief in herself.

She reminds us that “good girls” do get rich. And more importantly, that wealth in the hands of good women can positively change the world.
